I work for the Royal Canadian Navy, at a training unit on the West coast called HMCS Venture.
I'm the Product Development Lead (Pacific) for the Naval Training Group's Learning Support Centre.
We do many different things, all in support of navy training.
One of the things we've done in the past was to leverage Innovative Solutions Canada to work with cutting-edge Canadian businesses to test and evaluate their products to see if they could be a good fit for training.
Not every test was a home run-style success, but the lessons learned were always valuable for everyone involved.
My team has also attended a lot of public-facing events - we have some very cool 3D models, equipment, and software that we bring along to let everyone experience AR, VR, 3D printing, and more. These events are one of the things I love the most about the work I do.
